I went into the Department of Social Services office in Branson, MO. I went to member services for help and she told me I needed to go to the Children’s Division a couple doors down. I did what she told me to do. I walked in and no one was around. I rang the bell twice and waited for an hour and a half. Nobody ever came out. I finally found someone after waiting forever only for her to tell me I was in the wrong place and need to go upstairs. She walked me up to where I was supposed to be. As I was talking to the lady in the office where the other lady told I needed to go to, I explained my situation. They have my newborn son’s name spelled wrong on the MO HealthNet card and his United Healthcare card. I explained how I tried calling the DSS number everyday for the past two weeks and couldn’t ever get through which is why I decided to come into the office. The other lady in the room proceeded to yell at me, tell me they couldn’t help me there and that there was nothing they could do. She never offered any other help and if it wasn’t important to me I wouldn’t have tried calling the number everyday for the past two weeks and I wouldn’t have left work early to try and get it taken care of. I cried in the parking lot for fifteen minutes. If you hate your job THAT much then I suggest find a new one. Your job is to help people, not yell at them when they come looking for help. I’m a 20 year old single mom just trying to get help fixing the issues your department made. It is important to me. My son is my BIGGEST PRIORITY and I will forever do what’s best for him. Hire a better staff.
Is there a local phone number I can call? I need to speak with a person and cannot seem to get that option in the automated phone line.
