I was trying to change my Medicare coverage starting October 2020. I wanted the United Healthcare Dual Complete D- SNP plan. I've been enrolled 3 times, called Medicare for verification, sent copies of my Medicaid card twice for verification and have been turned down 3 times because I don't have QMB on my Medicaid card that I have had since 1974. They've changed my name on it in 1996, and that's it. I have contacted about 5 different DHS places & keep getting forwarded to a different department in a different city. Dickinson, Sioux City, Spencer, the 877- state phone number, etc. But no one gets what I am needing. No one sends me a letter of verification. No one returns my calls. And before I started contacting DHS, I contacted Medicaid, where I was told that I am on QMB but all they do is issue the cards & DHS takes care of anything else needed regarding the cards. Considering that it took me almost a year to get 1) food stamps set up and 2) 3 months to get a food stamp card...I know you don't have very many workers due to cost cutting by the government, but seriously, I can't get the help I need when I need it.
