I applied for medical and foodstamps on 11/ 20/20, I never heard anything from them, I called the social service change reporting number, on 1/21/21 they told me that when they looked up my case there was a notation stating that I gave a written notice to close my case ( which was a LIE) why would I do. So on 1/27/21 , I went to the office, they couldn't find my application, and they wanted to give me this long drawn-off story about how anyone else screwed-up and not owning up to their own infractions, (so SAD ) Why don't they just designate someone to JUST ANSWER THE PHONE ALL DAY.
Yes I have visited this office. I had to walk to this office from the grocery store to find out what happened and why my benefits were not put on my card. The whole time I was walking to this office I was hold. When I walked in the office I was still on hold and they were standing around talking. Now don’t try to call this office after 10 am because they DO NOT answer and will not . I do not know how these people got their jobs but they need to find another cause they don’t want to the one they have. If you want to get help your best bet is to go to Jessup Street because the Claymont office is one of the worst offices to try to get help or answers. I’ve sat and watched them ignore phone calls and call people that came in after you. I don’t know if they know them or what, but this is the worst Social Service office in this area for answers. They need someone who knows what they are doing in that office cause none of them in there right now have a clue. After calling just today and letting phone ring until it went to a busy sound I have had enough. I call the Delaware social service information line and asked that guy a question and he didn’t know what I was talking about. This system is total flawed.
