Hi, I'm trying to reach the Milford office. When I press "0" for an operator/receptionist is doesn't do anything and when I stay on the line as instructed it disconnects.
I keep calling the office and no answer.
Hello, My name is Officer Nick Adams with the East Haven Police Department. I wanted to take a moment to write in and give praise for one of your employees. On Monday, September 9, 2019 I had the pleasure of working the Demeshea Jordan. I have been a police officer for 5 years and have worked with several DCF employees. I can honestly say that Demeshea clearly has a love for the job that she does and is passionate about it. The basics of our interaction were that we were dealing with investigating a claim of abuse with very little information at first. This was a Monday afternoon when Demeshea was most likely getting ready for her day to wind down and for her to go home. Despite this, Demeshea arrived and dove right in. She conducted a great interview with the juvenile making the complaint prior to my arrival, so she was able to come out of the interview and provide me with all of the important details I needed for my investigation. I then had the pleasure of sitting with her while we interviewed both parents, and the juvenile's younger sister. Demeshea took charge, was professional and engaging, asking all of the pertinent questions, and handling the second juvenile interview very well despite it being challenging with the juvenile not being able to stay on topic. I believe that employees like Demeshea should be recognized, especially in careers like the ones we both do where it can sometimes be easy to become complacent, dismissive, annoyed, or unmotivated. We see a lot of bad that most people in the world have no idea exists and it can bring us down, which reflects on our work. Demeshea appears to be able to wipe that all clear from one call out to another, and that's pretty remarkable. My Sergeant was on scene for part of the time and later in our shift we spoke and both discussed how great Demeshea was. The Middle School Principal, Laura Lynn, also complimented Demeshea in her office before we all left. That's three people who deal with other people, day in and day out, that in one short interaction recognized Demeshea's talent as clearly exceeding the norm. Demeshea is a valuable employee and we all look forward to working with her in the future! Thank you, Officer Nick Adams
