Reviews
The number one complaint with this office, as noted in 90% of all comments....is lack of communication, added to the fact that some (not all because some are really nice and try hard,) but some lack any ability at all to problem solve, or to deescalate a growing frustration level in the person they're "helping." Lack of training perhaps, or lack of concern. Either way, more certainly needs to be done to recenter staff and realign goals and priorities! Jus' saying!
This is the worst office for communication and availability to talk to a representative or supervisor because my case has many issues that need prompt attention with my snap benefits being canceled due to a new merging system of benefits according to the toll-free line that I waited on for over an hour before someone answered. I'm happy that I have the common sense to ask the representative to note down my phone number in case the call dropped! The call did drop after 45 minutes of talking to a representative that was unable to answer many questions because these questions pertained to Federal officials and not the State. The woman named Donna had to be asked at least 6 times to give me a supervisor's phone number because she wasn't even able to tell me the dollar amount of my snap benefits that she supposedly reinstated that wasn't any fault of my own. I can't get ANYONE at this local branch to contact me back regardless of following the prompts given when I've called the branch. I'm disabled, high risk for covid, and do not have the Internet. I've left my temporary Email! As if people do not already have enough problems with everyday life.
I have had such a hard time getting ahold of this office. I have waited on the phone over 3 hours to make appointments and leave voicemails and never get any calls back. I had an appointment scheduled for an interview and never got the call. Waited an hour to talk to someone who said she would forward my message to a scheduler and still never got a call. Turned in my application over a month ago... there must be no organized system because I have never experienced a DHS office with this kind of problem.
i want to apply for food stamps online but cant seem to find the online application.
I have waited over 16 days to set up a appointment and every time they "call" they call the wrong number. I've called to update this information and I've even gone in the office with no success. The Lady in the front tried to help but she did not know how to schedule, the appointment. Was made for a phone interview and I never got the call. I called in and the Lady transferred me to the scheduling 4 times before I got a voicemail. I have left over 3 voicemails since I first got a call from them Nov 26! I get that they are busy but 3weeks of playing phone tag is not right specially. Because I had updated the phone number and they "had no record of this" I can't recall the name of the gentleman. Who I spoke with.
