Information on Services
The Monroe County Office of Children and Youth, under Pennsylvania law, is mandated to investigate all reports of suspected abuse, neglect, or dependency of children from birth to age 18 within the County. Program staff works closely with private social service agencies, school districts, the Drug & Alcohol Program, and the Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health and Developmental Services, and law enforcement agencies. Additionally, the staff work with families directly and coordinate services with community resources to improve family conditions. In-home services, placement services, and adoption services are integral to our child protective service function.
Reviews
This agency causes more problems. They are rude and unprofessional.
I already got a bad experience with them, instead of looking for the interest of the child they get to their own conclusions. When you asked them, their answer is ok. In the state of Pa. I don't want to get into it publicly but I will be glad to speak to a congressman or assemblyman.
I had the worst experience with a caseworker, she lied on me to my child's father family saying I called everyday making reports all the time not true, I did twice and they were the truth. She went to investigate my child's father and instead of popping up on him like she is suppose to do she called him with a heads up and told him she was coming. My own child's father specifically told me these things not thinking he would ever tell me or we would be on good terms again. Honestly it seemed as if she was flirting with my child's father and liked him. She told him if I call again to report me to get a protection order! I was no threat to my child and it was a open case on both me and my child's father for two different matters. My child's father ended up beating this case which I am ok with honestly but what he had done was and is not ok. I am very very upset with this place for overlooking the truth I even offered to pay my own lie detectors test of course she said no. I talked to her one time, after she met my child's father in person she never contacted me again, I called a few times never once a return phone call. She needs to be fired period.
